Hello Jonathan, David

is the code at https://github.com/jonabbey/panda-imap full working
version of Mark's panda-imap ?

Can it replace uw-imap in production environment ?

Deniss,
As far as I know, Jon's copy is a full version of Mark's panda-imap.
I've never actually seen Mark's final work, but it looks like his style ;)
and seems mostly complete, baring one specific omission.

As far as its being a functional replacement for UW imapd, I'm running it in
production right now. It's not quite a total replacement for the UW kit insofar
as its missing the "utils" directory (which contained things like "mixcvt"
"mixdfix" & "mixrbld") but pretty much everything else seems to be there
(including the tops-20 kit).

You need to understand that I have a somewhat atypical view of Mark's work.
I take it as a work-in-progress and add a bunch of local customizations to
it (such as adding "QUOTA" support, a Kerberos authenticator, and a local
adaptation of "black-box" mode) to create our production service.
However most of my tweaks & patches applied directly to panda with few
changes. So I'd call panda a direct follow-on to UW-imap 2007e.

speaking of the MIX utils, does anybody have a copy of Mark's version
of them?

A couple of years ago I ran into a bug in the UW version of "mixrbld"
which would cause it to emit corrupt '.mixindex's in some corner-cases.
I figured out what was going on and came up with a patch. Sent a note
to Mark telling him what I found and he agreed with my fix.
He then commented that that bug and others were fixed in his "panda"
distro.

I'd like to see what he did with the MIX utils.

I *think* the files here are a recent copy of Mark's changed MIX
utilities, but I can't prove it:

Gary,
I'll vouch that those utils are Mark's panda versions. They have bug-fixes
and copyright/license updates consistent with Mark's work (in particular that
"mixrbld" bug-fix, the logic is the same as mine but with different variable
names).

thanks for the find.

Jon,
Would you please consider adding these mix utils to your panda-imap
project so we have it all collected in one place.

I just compared your mixrbld and mixcvt to the latest I have. Your
mixcvt is actually slightly newer (version=4) than the version (=3) in the
latest (2/22/2012) release of the full imap-2010 from Mark.

Curious, what "full imap-2010" release from Mark? The last I know of is
(uw's) imap-2007e
